Karya Peduli Kita (KAPETA) Foundation
Karya Peduli Kita Foundation (KAPETA) is a non-governmental organization that was established through a caring community of psychologists, education professionals and parents who have experienced the problem of drug use among families and communities. KAPETA commenced since June 2002 through the support meetings for parents (Family Support Group) and outpatient drug treatment programs (daycare), until it was formally established by a legal entity as a foundation on February 24, 2004.
Through a variety of programs related to overcome the problem of drugs and HIV / AIDS, KAPETA Foundation seeks to help people with substance use disorders (drug) problems to be able to return to their social functions in society and provide socio-psychological support for PLWHA (People With HIV AIDS) to live their lives.
With the limited dissemination of information and education related to drug problems and HIV / AIDS in Indonesia, led to various understanding and perception in the community with regards to these issues. This situation often impacted and becames a burden for people or the community close to the drug users and people living with HIV. If not addressed properly, this may be the stigma and discrimination that would make the problem of drugs and HIV / AIDS become increasingly difficult to overcome. Therefore, KAPETA Foundation try to help the people and the general public who are closely in contact with drug users and people living with HIV, through the provision of information, education and socio-psychological support on a regular basis. Our activities are in the form of peer support meetings and family support meetings, seminars, workshops, outbound and training, which becomes part of our services for the general public (Public Program Services).
